ANZA VILLAGE

This village was called with this name attributed to the famous tribe named Bani Enza . It is subdivision of Assad bin Rabieah Al Adnanya . The word Anza means high place and this is why it was called with this name.

Location of the village
The village is located on a hill south of the city of Jenin slightly turning aside to the west far about 19 km . The area of the village in 1945 not more than 16 acres. The area started to expand in the shape of rectangular until its land has reached 4750 acres. The village is surrounded with four villages named” Alzawyeh-Saanour- Ajjah and Jabba.

Farming
The farmers of Anza used to grow cereals and grains including wheat and beans. The land is famous with lintels growing which is considered to be the best in quality among the villages of Nablus city and Jenin city.they also used to grow vegetables in addition the land is also planted with fruitful trees such as almond, apricot, olive, figs and others .the land also produces natural corps such as Zaater, Akkoub and others,

In the village there are two mosques, the old one called Al Ommari mosque while the new mosque was constructed in 2006. One school was established during Otoman occupation period but it could not continue during the hatred British occupation period. After Israeli occupation one primary and elementary school for boys and one primary school for girls were established, nowadays the schools became secondary schools. In the village there are two olive presses, flour mill, philanthropic society and medical center. There are three water springs but they are not enough for village, the people depend on water wells from rain water. Lately a water tank was constructed which supply the village with water continuously.
